Acer palmatum 'Omure yama'

This is the second time I tried this maple. First one died years ago. I have one that looks like it will weep nicely, which is what it is known for. Planted in a container. Plan to plant out in 2011. Won't plant out this year (2011). Has made no growth whatsoever. Things have been digging at its roots all year, I don't know why. This has to be why it hasn't grown any.

Acer palmatum 'Virdis'

#1 2011
I have three: one in the front (#1), one in back (#2), one far out back (#3). The one in back was purchased in 2002 from Greenview. It has suffered some dieback, is sited on a wetter spot. The one in front is on a drier spot and has done better. This year (2011) I had problems with squirrels climbing into the upper branches, bending them back and eating them. The top is a little bare this year. The one far out back was a pity purchase from Lowe's. It did really well over the winter, but in 2011 a large branch fell on it and took out a major portion. No problems with either virdis this year. Have seeds on #1.

Acer circinatum 'Pacific Sprite'

Acer palmatum 'Toyama nishiki'

2011
This caught my eye every time I went to Davidsan's and finally bought it. In ground August 2010. No dieback winter 2011 and has put on nice growth. In fall 2012, when two trees were felled, some branches came down and broke off such a large piece, I decided to take this out of the ground and store it in the garage for the winter. I planted it out in the spring. Its shape is not as good, but seems healthy.

Acer palmatum 'Ryusei'

Davidsan's 2011. Impulse buy, love weeping trees.

Acer palmatum 'Fukinigashi'

Davidsan's 2011.

Acer palmatum 'Fairy Hair'

Davidsan's 2011. Another one I always wanted. Supposed to burn easily due to the fine leaves.
This has been vigorous. Still in the container, but have had no problems with burning.
