Weather update winter 2008-2009: End of December, ice storm. Maples seemed to be okay, a few branches broken when limbs in older trees feel onto the maples below. Biggest worry, record low temps Jan 15th and 16th. Fifteenth: -17, Sixteenth: -22 (-21 in Peoria) set record from 1977.
Weather update winter 2009-2010: Late fall, mid-November still have had moderate temps, all maples colored before hard freeze and lost leaves before they needed to be moved to storage. Lows in mid thirties to forties. Large snow (8" or so) Christmas. Lowest temps to date tomorrow (3 degrees cent. for low)
June 2010 was the second wettest June on record.
Weather update winter 2010: A lot of snow, above total for the season in Feb. Temps have been cold, but normal. Lows in single digits. Lowest to date -11 in January. We had a total of 8 below zero days in Jan. A new snowfall record was set 52.5" (in February), which broke the old record of 51.6" in 1978-79.
