I didn't really think this would make it, but it's about 5 years old this year. In fact, I had two, in completely different locations and the one that survived, I expected to die. It is growing next to the house, so is protected. However, that area collects a lot of water, especially early in the spring from runoff. I thought it would be too much water, but so far it seems to be doing well. It struggled for a few years, but has grown quite a bit this year (2011).
